Tennis fundraiser success

The recent junior tennis tournament was an outstanding success with $3500 raised from food sales, tournament fees and generous donations.

The Saturday fundraiser saw keen tennis players take to the courts for fun and competitive tennis games followed up with scrumptious kai prepared by the tennis kids and their parents.

The funds raised will be going towards the group of 16 local based tennis players, aged between 8 and 18, preparing for two tournaments in New Zealand.

The Rarotonga based players will be joined by a number of other Cook Islands tennis players attending school in New Zealand.

The players will take part in the Coca Cola Hamilton tournament first before battling it out with New Zealand best junior players at the annual Auckland Christmas tournament.

Draw three of the junior tennis raffle tickets will be held at 5pm at the Nikao tennis centre.

The junior tennis players and parents would like to thank everyone that supported their fundraiser for junior tennis development.
