Sparks will fly

After last week’s table-turning start to round two of the CITC club rugby season, this week’s match ups are sure to spring some more surprises.

Last week saw all first round winners fail to repeat their season start performances.

The Avatiu Eels were comprehensively thrashed by the Arorangi Cowboys 34-7 while the Ngatangiia Dragons struggled to find their form against the Takuvaine Reds who snuck in to win 10-6.

And the biggest surprise of them all was the Tupapa Panthers who finally sprung to life to register their first win – a thorough 31-0 beating over the Titikaveka Bulls.

So this week’s main match between the Dragons and Panthers is sure to send sparks flying.

The Panthers will be on a high after their emphatic win over the Bulls, however they face a somewhat hard to predict Dragons outfit.

But one thing is for sure – the Dragons will be calling for all their supporters to back them up on their home ground on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Eels under 13 grade will host their Bulls counterparts today for the start of week 8 of games.

Their match will be followed by the Senior B grade clash between these two clubs.

Remaining Bulls grades will travel to the swamp for their games with the Eels on Saturday.

At the Happy Valley field, the Reds as hosts and hard fought winners over the Dragons last week should be on form this Saturday when they face the top of the table Cowboys who will be brimming with confidence after their Eels stampeding session last week.

Whatever colour you wear – this week’s games are shaping up to be crackers!

Get out and support your club.
