The open men’s and women’s touch rugby competition on Monday ended with some surprising results.

The Warriors were not able to overcome the prisoners Roxz team who for the second week in a row have managed to draw even with their opposition.

The Roxz boys held the Warriors to a 4-all draw in what was a hotly contested match at the swamp.

The Germinators managed to keep the northern group Rama men’s team at bay with an extra try giving them a slim 4-3 win.

The Avatiu League Boys must have been suffering after a physical match on Saturday against the Bears.

While they won their league match 34-24, they weren’t able to give the same level of commitment when they faced the very fancy Vikings side who easily won the match 7-3.

In the women’s competition, the FBI team were just too hot for the Bounty Hunters who went down 7-5 while the Devil Slayers thrashed the northern group Rama women’s team 4-0.

The TSL Rookies managed to topple their fancier opponents the Vixens 4-2.

Today the postponed mixed competition round from last week will be played out at the swamp.

Monday’s open results – (men) Warriors 4 vs Roxz 4, Rama 2 vs Germinators 3, Vikings 7 vs Avatiu League Boys 3, (women) Bounty Hunters 5 vs FBI 7, TSL Rookies 4 vs Vixens 2, Devil Slayers 4 vs Rama 0.
