Rippa launches week of rugby

Future rugby sevens stars are set to shine at the Rarotonga Primary Schools mixed rippa rugby tournament on Tuesday and the Under 15 College rugby sevens on Wednesday.

The two junior tournaments are part of the week of rugby leading up to the codes pinnacle event the Cook Islands International Sevens in Heaven tournament to be held from November 3 to 5.

Six primary schools have signed up for the round robin rippa rugby tournament sponsored by Cook Islands News which will kick off at 2pm at the BCI Stadium.

Titikaveka College, Nukutere College, Nikao Maori, Avarua School, Arorangi School and Avatea School will line up for rippa rugby honours with all parents and rippa rugby fans encouraged to get along to the stadium and cheer them on.

On Wednesday boys and girls rugby sevens teams will square off in the Pacific Computers Under 15 College rugby sevens.

This tournament will also be held at the BCI Stadium and will be contested by Titikaveka College, Rakei Toa, Tereora College and Nukutere College.

Games will kick off at 1pm and once again all are invited to come along for a great day of sevens.
