Powerade Challenge kicks in

The under 16 CITC Powerade Challenge will be held this Wednesday between the Takuvaine Warriors and the Ngatangiia Sea Eagles at the Avatiu field.

The new midweek junior league challenge is to help with the development of rugby league at the grassroots.

Both the under 16 Sea Eagles and Warriors sides head into this Wednesday’s game after suffering losses at the weekend.

The Sea Eagles went down 20-30 to the Avatiu Eels and the Warriors were beaten by the Tupapa Panthers 28-10.

The match is sure to see sparks flying as the young guns from Takuvaine and Ngatangiia battle it out to take hold of the Powerade Trophy.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s round 7 games – the Titikaveka Bulldogs will head to Aitutaki to take on the Sharks at Vaipae sports field and the baby Bulldogs will play the baby Bears.

On Saturday – the Avatiu Eels will host the Tupapa Panthers and the Ngatangiia Sea Eagles will host the Warriors.
