Plenty of action as semi finalists found

The semi-finalists for the five-a- side soccer competition has been found in both divisions after a thrilling day of action at the CIFA complex in Matavera last Thursday.

Avatiu No Boys dominated ball and field possession against White Fairies winning their match by 4 goals to 1.

The F.O.B sides eagerness to progress through to the semis provided for an action packed game against Tic Taks and while F.O.B won the game by 4 goals to 2 ,Tic Tak were thrown a life line and given the final spot in the semi finals against Black Qwenz.

Black Qwenz cruised through to the semi finals without any hurdles winning against Zconi Rebels by 3 goals to 0.

Plenty of drama was seen in the mens division with two matches going into penalty shoot-outs to decide the winners.

The Rock faced Virgin Ave and looked to cruise to the semi finals without any hiccups but Virgin Ave had other ideas and levelled the game at one all taking both teams into a penalty shoot-out.

Rocks goal keeper Michael Murare was the saviour keeping out Virgin Aves penalty takers with some heroic saves to advance through to the semi finals.

The Warriors scored an early goal and missed several easy chances to cement a place in the semi finals but were punished with some slack defending allowing Avatiu No Girls to equalise forcing both teams into a penalty shoot-out.

Avatiu No Girls kept their cool to win the shoot-out by 4 goals to 3.

In the other matches played Black Puta wasted no time and got the ball rolling with 4 unanswered goals in the first half against Who Cares and went on to win by 9 goals to 1.

All Stars booked a spot in the semi finals against Black Puta after defeating Maro Bhago by 2 goals to 0.

In the event of a draw at the full time whistle a penalty shoot-out will take place to decide the winners.

The semi final matches will be played at the CIFA complex today in Matavera with the womens division kicking off at 4.45pm followed by the mens category at 5.20pm. - CIFA Media
