Only wins count at sevens today

Results from todays club sevens competition will determine just who the top teams are that will playoff for top honours next weekend.

The current competition is a round robin format with the final seeding to be decided when the 1st placed team takes on the 2nd, 3rd versus 4th and 5th versus 6th in each grade playoff against each other.

This means that teams need to win their matches today to stay in contention for next weeks grand finals.

In the under 13 division, the Tupapa Panthers versus Arorangi Cowboys match will be the game to watch as the winner of this game will become the outright leader of the grade after both sides went unbeaten in the first round of games.

In the exciting under 16 division, the Arorangi Cowboys lead this grade and will hope to consolidate their position on the points ladder.

The Avatiu Eels under 19 team is the squad to beat in this division having won their round 1 match ups.

2010 champions the Avatiu Eels have a hill to climb after losing both of their round matches they will need to win their remaining matches today to stay in finals contention.

Games today will be played at the Avatiu field and will start at 12pm with the under 19 grade matches followed by the senior A games, under 13 and under 16 age grade games.
