Rarotonga children are set to have plenty of water fun early next year thanks to the generous donation of swimming equipment by Australian Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry and her Vaka Eiva masters crew.

ANZ Tamariki Sports co-ordinator Ake Hosea-Winterflood is over the moon with the donation made by the oe vaka team.

Team Curry have donated swimming noodles, kick boards and other kids swimming and athletic equipment to help Hosea with her junior sports coaching programme.

Hosea is grateful to Lisa and Team Curry for their generous donation that came about after Hosea caught up with Team Curry paddler and Cook Islander Theresa Roberts at last year’s Vaka Eiva. “I have no excuses now,” says Hosea about kicking her programme back into action early next year.

She plans to run her programme again in early February where all children taking part are guaranteed to have plenty of fun learning how to swim and understanding water safety.
