New sailors start

Rarotonga Sailing Club completed a Learn to Sail course at the club on Wednesday for aspiring sailors.

The uptake was really keen and it looks like most of the class will be graduating on to the RSC Green Fleet with the younger members taking a more gradual approach through the Nemo squad.

These young sailors were amazing in the enthusiasm that they put into the course and it was great to see them progress to being secure in the boats.

Certificates for the course will be presented at 2pm at RSC at the close of the Pirate Picnic planned for Friday December 17 when the fleet returns to shore.

All junior sailors from Gold Fleet, Green Fleet and the Nemo squad will join the Learn to Sail group for the occasion, finishing at the club for the presentation.

Saturday is the last day for Sails Restaurant Trophy for vakas and Sunbursts so get in there and give it a go.

Optimist Gold Fleet will also sail in the afternoon adding a number of boats to the senior fleet.
