‘Bruising’ game expected at Muri today

Nukupure Park in Ngatangiia will host what should be a bruising premier grade rugby league game between hosts the Ngatangiia-Matavera Sea Eagles and the visiting Tupapa Panthers.

The Sea Eagles will be looking to get their campaign back on track after being edged out by the Aitutaki Sharks last week.

On home ground and in front of loyal supporters the Sea Eagles are expected to be at their best against a confident Tupapa Panthers side.

The Panthers have been flying under the radar so far this season and consistently improving their game each week.

The last time these two teams met was in week one of the 2012 competition where the match drew 24-all.

Today’s match should decide the better team.

The other main game of the day will be at Raemaru Park in Arorangi where the Arorangi Bears will host the Takuvaine Warriors.

No doubt the host supporters will be expecting the Bears to slaughter the Warriors but the Takuvaine club have been known to be ‘giant killers’ when they are on form and today could be their day.
