The touch rugby round robin competition is expected to run right up until February 23 before the business end kicks in.

Teams have until mid February to get themselves to the top of the points table and into grand finals contention.

The Kamikaze Bulletz are the current leaders in the men’s tournament with 23 points but the Flying Ducks are hot on the Bulletz heels with 22 points.

Team Germinators, Vikings and the northern group Rama team all share third place with 17 points while the Atiu Warriors sit on 12 and Bigboys are on 10 points.

In the women’s competition – the experienced Bounty Hunters are in the lead on the table with 22 points.

Team Can’t Touch Dis and Kamikaze Heat share second place with 18 points each while TSL is on 16 points.

FBI have 11 points so far this season and the Paradise Pearls have 9.

The Vikings are the outright leaders in the open mixed division on 30 points and the 007 agents lurk in second place with 24 points and in third with 23 points is team Kamikaze Fighters.

Westpac and Dog Rockers share 20 points each.

TSL Schnappers have earned 16 points so far this season while Nukutere College have 13 points and the Educationalists sit on 12 points.

So with the business end of the competition fast approaching, games are sure to be closely fought encounters.
