Rarotonga junior elite tennis players are looking super strong and sharp ahead of their planned tennis tour to New Zealand next week.

As part of the 19-member squads build up for the Hamilton and Gisborne tournaments in December theyve been testing their skills and techniques against each other through the Saturday ANZ stars competition. The competition is for the players under 15 while the older players have been testing their skills against open players during the current open tennis championships.

Last Saturdays ANZ Stars competition generated some fantastic results and close combats on court. The under 10 elite squad was won by Luke Rous who defeated John Jessie in the age grade grand final 10-5.

Robert Healey was the top player in the under 9 division by beating John Jessie in the finals 8-5 but he was then defeated by Zsaleya Sword-Tua 8-6 in the older under 10 age grade.

Jack Woods was on form at the weekend taking out the junior elite squad division by beating Ryan Denis in the grand finals 10-5.
