As part of the build up to the annual Round Rarotonga Road Race week of running series starting on September 23 – a half marathon has been organised for September Saturday 11.

The half marathon will be held from the Tikioki Tri site in order to avoid the usual Saturday morning traffic in Avarua.

The race will get underway at 7 o’clock in the morning and will see athletes tackle an ‘out-and-back’ 21km course from the tri site to the Pacific Resort bridge then back past the tri site and on to the Saltwater Caf and back to the Pacific Resort bridge for the final leg to the Queens Representative’s residents and back to the finish.

Conditions should be cooler during the morning start and afterwards athletes have the luxury of soaking it up in the lagoon.

All athletes must be at the tri site by 6.30am to get ready and numbered.
