Get the kids in the water

With the festive season just around the corner this is the perfect time to get your kids to learn how to swim properly and understand safety around water.

Most families will be flocking to the beaches for days of fun in the sun and ANZ Tamariki Sports programme coordinator Ake Hosea-Winterflood is keen to make sure kids are confident around water, understand water safety and have lots of fun swimming.

The kids swimming programme starts today and will be held at the Nikao Social Centre beach and lagoon for an hour from 4 to 5pm.

The programme is for all kids aged between 7 and 11 years.

All kids will need proper swimming gear including togs and goggles, a bottle of water and plenty of enthusiasm plus the small fee of $5 for the 6 week swimming programme.
