Former Warriors league start turned professional boxer Monty Betham is expected to be on the island for this Saturday’s Fight Night at the Telecom Sports Arena.

This Saturday’s fight night is a combined fundraising event between the Cook Islands Sports Academy and the Cook Islands Amateur Boxing Association.

The night has 10 bouts scheduled between CISA students and up and coming club boxing stars.

But at this stage, Betham isn’t booked for a bout but anything can happen between now and fight night!

In December 2006 Betham announced his retirement from rugby league in order to pursue a career in boxing.

Betham is trained by Danny Codling and managed by Mick Watson and since retiring from rugby league Betham has competed in a number of reality television programme including Treasure Island: Pirates of the Pacific, Celebrity Joker Poker and Dancing with the Stars.

So don’t miss this Saturday’s fight night touted to be full of boxing action and of course the opportunity to mix and mingle with Month Betham.

Standard tickets and corporate tickets are available from Tina Iro and Navy Epati.

Corporate tickets are $100 per person and includes ring side seats and silver service including food and drinks.
