High-flying spikes, diving digs and plenty of smiles and laughs, were all the rage at the Cook Islands News Aitutaki 4x4 Easter volleyball tournament at Araura College.

With 16 games running at once it was an action-packed afternoon as teams from the under 13 grade right up to the golden oldies mama division fought it out for cash prizes, sponsors products plus championship trophies.

Games ran right up to 7pm after a 12.30pm start out of respect of the ANZAC Day commemorations.

In the open mens division defending champions the Green Machines were in hot form and so were a fast and fit Maoate Contractors squad as well as the standout pink Aquila Rentals mens teams.

Blue Spikers and team Pu-Ava were also threatening.

In the womens division 2010 defending champions the Tamanu Beach ladies were serious from the outset while team Mates were undefeated in the womens round robin games.

Team Ouch were also in top form along with the Queen Machines and Nannys.

Awesome volleyball skills and techniques were seen in the under 13 division and the mama teams in the golden oldies division certainly had the biggest and loudest laughs as well as the most fun.

The full Easter 4x4 volleyball results and more photos from the action-packed day will be published in tomorrows Cook Islands News.
