Avatiu will be bracing for a tough challenge when it takes Arorangi in round two of the Netball Domestic Season 2020 today.

The premier battle between the two teams will be the feature match of the round.

Avatiu is riding high after a superb 60-44 win against defending champions Titikaveka at home last week.

Arorangi also started their campaign on a high after an 87-25 win over minnows Takuvaine in round one. But their real test will be today when they play the mighty Avatiu side.

Netball Cook Islands’ Tekura Moeka’a said the wet weather delayed some of the round two games this week.

Tupapa and Titikaveka opens I match rained out in the first quarter and will be played at a later date. Both Takuvaine open teams had convincing wins while Arorangi and Avatiu had a win each.

“We are hoping the Saturday games will prove a stunner. Takuvaine Valley girls will host Ngatangiia who will no doubt be wanting to repeat an awesome first week if not better.

“Avatiu will be hosting Arorangi in the match of the week and Titikaveka hosting Tupapa.

“We are looking forward to seeing the parents and the community heading down to their local courts to support, especially the stars on the court, our tamariki, who have been keen and ready to take the court.”
