Four student leaders from the two schools of Penrhyn island were inducted earlier this month.

The Omoka School student leaders are Abba Taime, Marangi Taime and Veronica William. They are joined by Patrick Mamia from Tetautua School.

One of the Omoka School leaders Marangi Taime is “grateful for the opportunity to be selected again” and sees the role as a learning experience for the future.

“I might as well start now as you never know how this leadership role may play out.”

Tetautua School’s only student leader Patrick Mamia said: “I thank God, my family and teachers for this opportunity and I will do my best to support the teachers, students and the community.”

Penrhyn schools’ student numbers at the beginning of this year stood at 70 – Omoka School with 54 students and Tetautua School with 16.
