The Cook Islands Volleyball Federation Easter Games saw tremendous success with 24 teams fiercely competing for the top prize on Easter Monday.

In a post-match review on the Federation Facebook page, president Robert Graham expressed his gratitude, stating, “A big meitaki maata to our major sponsors Vodafone, to all the supporters and the teams who have come in strongly to compete this year.”

He further extended his congratulations to the Bounty Spikers for clinching the trophy once again in both divisions.

The event highlighted the dedication and talent within the volleyball community, and the support from sponsors and fans was crucial in making it a memorable and successful occasion.

The tournament showcased thrilling matches, culminating in intense finals where the Bounty Spikers emerged victorious in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

With loud cheers echoing through the National Sports Arena in Nikao, fans eagerly anticipated the showdown between the Bounty Spikers and their traditional rivals, the Kool Banana Acers in the men's division, and the AKTT girls in the women’s division.

In the women’s final, spectators were treated to a closely contested game, with the AKTT girls taking the lead at halftime. However, halftime proved crucial for the Bounty Spikers as they regrouped and came back stronger in the second set, ultimately securing their position as champions for the second consecutive year.

Reflecting on the women’s final, Graham commented, “The AKTT girls put up a fierce fight, but the Bounty Spikers showed resilience and determination to clinch the title once again.”

Final scores were 25-22 in favour of the Bounty Spikers.

Similarly, the men’s final was a closely fought battle, with both the KB Acers and the Bounty Spikers showcasing their prowess on the court.

The game started with a powerful spike from the KB Acers, setting the tone for a competitive match. However, halftime saw the Bounty Spikers taking the lead, leaving the KB Acers trailing behind.

In the second set, the Bounty Spikers continued their dominant performance, leaving the KB Acers struggling to catch up.

Despite a valiant effort from the KB Acers, time proved to be a decisive factor, ultimately favouring the Bounty Spikers as they secured the championship title.

Full-time scores of 28-25 in favour of the Bounty Spikers solidified their position as champions of the 2024 Easter Volleyball Tournament.

Graham commended both teams, stating, “The KB Acers put up a formidable challenge, but the Bounty Spikers displayed exceptional skill and teamwork to claim victory.”
