Cook Islands Touch Association will this afternoon hold the finals in the open men and women’s categories at the National Stadium in Nikao.

The finals will get underway with the third-place playoffs. On field one, Germinators will take on KAPs in an interesting battle.

Germinators being led by Andy Kapi will no doubt guide his team with flare and wit. But opposing them will be Viiga Reupena who definitely has speed and skill to dominate his opponents.

In the women’s category, defending champions FBI led by Rima Moeka’a and Tiarn Brown will be playing against Nikz.

Nikz will be led by sisters Maeva and Mela Poaru. Another game to watch as both teams have experience and speed.

In the men’s final, GAT will take on Atiu Warriors. GAT will be led by Puna Hiro and Vou Williams will lead his Atiu Warriors side.

Cook Islands Touch president Julz Westrupp said: “Both these teams have young players that are dangerous on the 7m line. A game definitely not to be missed.”

In the women’s division, Nukz Power will face the Bounty Hunters in another exciting clash.

Nukz Power has not been able to beat Bounty Hunters this season so it looks a bit more promising for Bounty Hunters to come away with the win.

“Both teams have young players with speed but it will come down to the team with the smarts.

Nukz Power will be guided by Westrupp as their captain. The side will miss their top player Rima Browne who is away overseas. The pressure will be put on her young middles, Tashi Kopu and Mahana Sijp, hopefully guidance from Westrupp, Kiana Sword Tua and Sunelia Tom will help.

The Bounty Hunters have a number of players vying for spots in the Pacific Games trailing squad. They include the likes of Romey Rauraa, Monica Wichman, Mereana Atatoa and Ngamata Moeka’a to name a few.
