An exciting Saturday awaits footballers in the premier men’s match.

Matavera will host Nikao Sokattak on its home ground in what is predicted as a nail-biting match.

The Matavera side will want to go all out for a win against Nikao Sokattak today.

After their unfortunate loss to Avatiu last week, Matavera premier men’s will be looking to repossess their strengths in play and give Nikao a challenging match.

Matavera’s defensive backs Jean Tua and Patrick Scheiders have shown their stout defensive nature, but will need to stay wary of Nikao’s quick forwards Toru Mateariki and Julius David, who are known for their consistent goal scoring and quick through balls.

Nikao Sokattak, who are known for turning the game to their favour in a moment’s notice have been moderate in their previous encounters, and need to latch back on to their standard form when playing today, as any vulnerable moment could cost them their top spot.

In the other premier men’s match, Avatiu will take on Puaikura today at the CIFA Complex, both are capable of a successful outcome, but will need to switch on today as anything could happen in those 90 minutes.

For the Islander senior women, Matavera women’s team have been confident in their games lately, causing many upsets and are eager to maintain their winning form in their remaining matches.

The Nikao women have made it hard for teams to score on their ends and are hoping to break the nil all scorings against Matavera this afternoon.

Both will have to come out ravenous because a match up like this can go either way. A single miscalculation could lead to an unforgettable defeat.

Puaikura women will need to recreate the driving force they had last week against Tupapa in order to overcome Avatiu in today’s match, as the Avatiu side are known for their unpredicted comebacks and will be looking to regain their fortes today.
