Blessed with Covid-free status and the ability to participate in sport, Cook Islands Football Association has managed to have an action-packed 2020 season and looks ahead to 2021.
Next year, 2021 is set to be an eventful and exciting year
for football with the first event to take place in January with the Cook
Islands Beach Games.
The third bi-annual Beach Games is set to take place from
January 11-23 2020 at the Beach Centre in Nikao and football will make its
first appearance alongside touch, handball, volleyball and basketball.
The Beach Soccer tournament will be held from January 14-16
2021 and Cook Islands Football Association look forward to featuring around
eight men’s and six women’s teams.
No doubt it will be exciting to see beach soccer feature in
the 2021 Beach Games.
Clubs have been encouraged to participate and register at
least a men and women’s team with a maximum of ten players to encourage

to enter your team for a fun-filled beach competition at $100 per team.
The football excitement will continue as Cook Islands
Football Association hosts its Third Bi-Annual Kia Orana Youth Football
Festival 2021, set to feature 32 teams from the Outer Islands, Aitutaki, Atiu,
Mangaia and Mauke and clubs around Rarotonga, Nikao Sokattak FC, Puaikura FC,
Tupapa Maraerenga FC, Avatiu FC and Takitumu from May 1-8 2021.
This will be a bigger local event for football and this time
the festival will see an additional two divisions to be included taking the
competition with four divisions, U15 Boys and Girls and U18 Men and Women.
It is expected that all teams who will participate will be
vying for the silverware and bragging rights that is accompanied and no doubt
will produce the on-field spectacle that the Festival showcases.
