Cook Islands outclass Papua New Guinea in World Cup Qualifiers

Cook Islands thumped Papua New Guinea Pepes 66-48 in its opening World Cup Qualifiers match in Suva, Fiji, last night.

The national team dominated from the first quarter leading 18-16.

The Marjorie Toru-skippered side further extended their lead 33-25 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, PNG trailed 10 points behind leaving the scoreboard at 50-40. Cook Islands will play Samoa tonight. Samoa lost to Tonga on Tuesday night.
