Due to unforeseen circumstances, the “Shoot your Shot – Beach Netball” fundraiser by the Netball and Basketball Cook Islands sports codes which was scheduled to take place this Saturday has now been postponed to April 1.

Tekura Moeka’a, the secretary of Netball Cook Islands, says there is still time to register a team in the open mixed and open women’s categories.

All the funds raised will be in aid of Netball and Basketball Cook Islands’ preparation for the Pacific Games to be held in Solomon Islands later in the year.

Netball Cook Islands is hoping to receive a good number of 30 teams to participate in the event.

“Mark the date as a family fun day out, food stalls will be available on the day from the netball and basketball federations.”

The beach netball fundraiser is a joint effort by both sports codes and will be held at the Beach Courts in Nikao. Registration fee per team of 10 (maximum) players is $120, send your registration forms to netballcookislandss@gmail.com.

Meanwhile round one of the Rarotonga Netball competition starts on April 12. The Pacific Games netball training camps and trials will start at the end of March in Rarotonga. There will most likely be camps in New Zealand and Australia.
