Letter: ‘Sky high’ air ticket prices

The letter writer Kuki Airani, Starlink Users, thinks that Air New Zealand ticket prices from Auckland to Rarotonga are justified on the grounds that they need to make a profit.

There is no denying all airlines, and in fact all businesses need to make a profit. and airlines have been badly affected over the Covid-19 period, but there is a big difference between making a reasonable profit and making a huge profit at the expense of those making this profit possible.

Air NZ's policy of selective and unfair ticket pricing is clearly working against Cook Islanders and people wanting to visit the Cook Islands, and Cook Islands businesses.

There can be no denying Air NZ adjust their prices down where they have competition. There are numerous examples of this including their ticket prices to Fiji.
