If only it was so simple. TTV, in this writer's view, is moemoea. From experience of my family, TTV does nothing, absolutely nothing when shown agricultural 32mm pipes running 24 hours a day.
Just one such pipe must be enough water to wash every car on
Rarotonga twice a day. So, telling the young entrepreneurial teams raising
funds of a Saturday to stop washing cars is not only stupid, it's mean and in
any case makes no difference at all to the 'supply' when streams such as Papua
continue to send millions of litres of water into the lagoon every day.
We don't have a water shortage, we have a $110 million system
that could not have been more poorly designed.
Before any meters go on houses, get meters on every farm where treated water is being thrown away.
Or is TTV controlled by politics, and no politician wants the
ire of the farmers?
