Letter: Fire dangers

A few well-known retailers are flaunting several laws by selling electrical items that have flaws.

One big retailer is known to illegally change 15A Range plugs to a 10A plug so it can easily fit into a normal socket which can melt and burn up.

Another big retailer sells a cheap clear electric jug that just breaks apart less than a year which can result in an electric shock.

Another retailer is selling hair clippers with USA plugs and voltage (110V) which can overheat quickly on our 230V system.
