LETTERS: Calls to raise the minimum wage

Dear Editor, at the end of the day you need an economy of scale to support development.

Can’t do that without a labour pool. And you can’t do that solely on a migrant labour force who is sending upwards of 50 percent of their earnings back to their families.

I don’t think we need to penalise present and future beneficiaries in order to make this affordable.

Defer the age criteria to collect the old age benefit which will yield a substantial amount of savings.

I agree - we cannot just pull out a sum of money out of thin air because it is what we think we are worth.

We are worth what the we can afford - realistically.

Rapist receives nine-year prison sentence for ‘repeated and humiliating’ assaults

I doubt the justice system has put any measures in place to support the victim 100%? Because nine-years imprisonment does not justify trauma the 14-year-old had to endure.

Thankyou young lady for speaking up. Though it would've been a hard task for you to relive the horrific ordeal, it shows you have strength, and determination. So with these values make the most of your life, do not allow the disgusting actions of this monster to determine your life.
