Imported roses for Valentine’s Day

Island Craft head florist Faurens Sophie, pictured, sprinkles the imported red roses with water as she prepares orders for Valentine’s Day today.

The company ordered 600 roses – 550 red roses and others assorted colours – from New Zealand. The roses arrived in Rarotonga over the weekend and were stored in a refrigerator to keep them fresh.

Sophie said the orders which are based on local demand increased from last year.

She said they have a variety of gift packages on offer for people celebrating Valentine’s Day.

“Some just order roses, we have someone who ordered 54 roses,” Sophie said.

Island Craft staff will start delivering bouquets and gift packages from 8am.
