International live music comes to Rarotonga

Groove to the new sounds of Ghanaian and Afrobeat singer-songwriter Eugene Kwame Marfo also known by the stage name Kuami Eugene tonight on Rarotonga.

Cook Islander Jarome Pare from Heimana Music is presenting an international line up of artists for the ‘Kuami Eugene’ concert which will also feature Samoan artist Victor J Sefo, supported by Pare the man himself, Cook Islands artist Ganesh Karati aka GBaby, DJ Spyce NZ, DJ Lark X and DJ Kealess.

They are set to take the stage at The Islander Hotel. 

The concert will be Kuami Eugene’s first in the Southern hemisphere before he tours New Zealand and Australia.

“We want to help celebrate the end of the Cook Islands Games and I want our people to enjoy a bit of international music.

“But, I also never forget our own music, and so we are bringing along one of our upcoming artists,  GBaby, to give something back to the Ipukarea,” said Pare, who is visiting Rarotonga with his partner Kim Marsters, to put the final touches of the concert together.

Karati aka GBaby has been on the singing scene for about 11 years, having started with the group Family Trust.

He is excited to be back on the island again after some time, and is looking forward to entertaining the audience this evening,

Tickets for the concert tonight are $60, doors open at 6pm.
