Defence lawyer Mark Short said he had received an email notifying him that Tekura Davina Areai was alongside her child and could return to Rarotonga when doctors permitted.
Police confirmed they had received correspondence from Starship Children’s Hospital.
The matter was adjourned to December 22.
Justice of the Peace Tangi Taoro told the court, Short must take her passport on her return and hand it to the court.
