Woman pleads guilty to child assault in Court

A woman has pleaded guilty to assaulting a child.
The defendant, who has name suppression, appeared in the Criminal Court at Avarua on Thursday.
Defence lawyer Michelle Tangimama asked that the charges could be read so the defendant could enter a plea.
The court heard she assaulted a child on November 16 this year.
The woman entered a guilty plea.
Tangimama requested a probation report so that sentencing could proceed.
The matter was adjourned to February 20, 2024.
