More alleged brawlers expected in court this week
A video circulated on social media showed the brawl between two groups of teenagers outside the Super Brown store.

More alleged brawlers are expected to appear in court on Thursday after facing charges of fighting in a public place and assault with intent.

Cook Islands Police confirmed that there are another seven individuals who were rounded up and questioned on Thursday last week in relation to a brawl that took place in Nikao on Sunday afternoon, January 28.

Police media officer Trevor Pitt said officers carried out arrests throughout the day on Thursday last week, bailing the suspects for a court appearance this week.

The males range in age from 15 to 25 years with charges related to fighting in public, and assault with intent.

This week, some of those charged for similar offences, related to the same incidents appeared in the Criminal Court.

Two groups were reportedly involved in the brawl.

Further fighting was reported and Police subsequently obtained camera footage of the incidents and multiple arrests followed.

Police had said the charges include fighting in public, assault with intent, and dangerous driving.
