The court heard that on December 3, 2023, Ratuvukivuki drove a truck on the public road under the influence of alcohol, and was also driving carelessly.
JP Whitta advised the defendant to seek a lawyer or represent himself, and ordered that he surrender his passport.
The matter was adjourned to February 15.
Grace Powell also appeared on Thursday, charged with similar offences, this year.
Powell was found to be over the legal limit for alcohol after a blood test.
