Cook Islands hot sauce businessman and Elvis Presley fan, Paul Lynch, will be launching his latest “hot, hot 10+ Burnin’ Love” sauce this Saturday.

Lynch has been making hot chili sauce since the Covid-19 pandemic began and says that over the years he has been cooking up progressively hotter sauce because customers keep wanting them hotter.

Paul’s Rarotonga Hot Sauce has become a hit over the years, so at 9.30am, Saturday at the Punanga Nui Market he will be dressed as Elvis and launching his homemade Hunka, Hunka Burnin Love sauce.

Lynch said he has cooked three different levels of hot sauce including scorpion and ghost chili which have been selling well.

For this new sauce, he brought chilies from New Zealand, the Carolina Reaper. Not many of the trees were fruiting, so he had to store those that ripened in a freezer until he had enough for about six months.

The new sauce is southern bourbon and cola flavoured.
