Dr Josephine Herman, a Cook Islander currently working with the University of Auckland, hopes to better our understanding of road traffic incidents and help officials create better policy. 14090808

Dr Josephine Herman, currently based in Auckland, was recently in the Cook Islands meeting with various government agencies including the ministries of Health, Transportation, Infrastructure, and Police as part of her research into road safety accidents. Her work also includes the effect of sleepiness.Dr Herman said record keeping can be improved on the causes of road safety, which in turn will provide information to policymakers and contribute to prevention of future incidents and injuries.
