Talented nine-year-old Eitia Taylor hushed the audience with her strong rendition of “Rise Up” received appreciative applause from the audience at the Kinura Tapunui music festival on Sunday.
Church groups including Nukutere College, Titikaveka and Nikao Ekalesia, and the Assembly of God entertained the crowd, with MC Moana Manuela energetically keeping the youth and everyone dancing to the Christian songs.
The annual Kinura Tapunui showcases local talent and links with the Tropical Christmas programme that is supported by local businesses to bring extra cheer and joy to children for the season.
Last night the Hospital Comfits Christmas Carols began at 6pm.
The Tropical Christmas programme continues tomorrow: Wednesday 18th – CITC Avarua will open until 6pm/The Aitutaki Christmas Parade, Thursday 19th – CITC Avarua open till 6pm; Friday 20th – ANZ Blue Day/Rarotonga Brewery specials, Saturday 21st – Santa and Elfie at the Market, Tuesday 24th – Vonnia’s Draw with up to $4,000 to be won.
