Changes are expected to be seen in the Cook Islands Sports and Olympic Committee ranks after the national sports body’s annual general meeting next month.

National federations and outer island sports associations have submitted their nominations for a number of senior positions within CISNOC. The posts of senior vice president, secretary general and three of the six vice presidents will come up for election at the meeting. Nominations closed last week.

Nominees for the positions will be sent to the national federations and outer island associations for their consideration before votes are cast during the AGM on April 7 at the Assembly of God hall in Takuvaine.

Currently the position of CISNOC senior vice president is held by George Paniani and CISNOC secretary general, who also seconds as the manager of the CISNOC office, is Rosie Blake.

Ina Marsters, George Hosking and Liz Sosene are the three CISNOC vice presidents whose positions are up for vote at the AGM.

The positions are for a term of four years.

Following the annual general meeting – the 2010 annual sports awards will be held on April 8 at the Aroa Nui Hall in Arorangi.
