Rainfall collected in Rarotonga this month has been significantly higher than last month, says Meteorological Service operational observer Nathan Tisam.

Tisam said the total rainfall for March, as of yesterday morning, was 351millimetres.

“For this month alone, three days were recorded as having more than 50mm of rainfall which was on the 9th, 26th and today (yesterday),” he said.

Meanwhile, he said Rarotonga is expected to experience more rain this week as there is a band of clouds that is producing this weather passing through the Southern Cooks

The meteorological office has forecast more cloudy periods and brief showers for the Northern Cook islands also.

Low pressure and rain continues to affect the southern Cook Islands with more thunderstorms.
