Tupapa Maraerenga won the clash of the week in the 2022 Rarotonga football season against Avatiu on Saturday.

In the Tower Insurance premier men’s division, Tupapa Maraerenga defeated Avatiu 3-1 at the Terevete Park in Avatiu.

The win puts Tupapa on top of the points table alongside defending champions Nikao Sokattak who are ahead on goal difference.

Nikao thumped Titikaveka 10-0 at Teimurimotia Park on Saturday to continue their superb start to the season. In the other men’s match played on Friday, Matavera FC defeated Puaikura 4-1.

In the Islander senior women’s division, defending champions Tupapa Maraerenga overcame Avatiu 2-0 on Saturday while Titikaveka defeated Nikao 3-0.

On Friday, Puaikura bounced back after the opening round loss to beat Matavera 3-0.
