Today will be the first of the football season’s senior fixtures, where Titikaveka FC and Tupapa Maraerenga FC will be taking the first lot of mid-week games.

The CIFA complex at Matavera will be the host of all mid-week games this week.

Launching us into today’s exhilarating matches will be the BSP U15 boys where both teams will be glued to the goal net, eager to place a ball in.

Although a win today would be nice for either teams, these boys will be more focused on the feel of the ball and calming their nerves for their first challenge of the season.

Ending today’s match-up will be the Islander senior women’s game between last year’s football champions the ladies in black, a fierce side that will be dared today by Titikaveka’s unyielding ladies at 5pm.

The young ladies from Tupapa and Titikaveka will be opening up the day at 4pm, before introducing the Tower Insurance Premier Men’s after their epic first day match ends, on Friday.

As this is only the first of week of round one football, all teams will be feeling those first game jitters.

But there is no doubt that these mid-week games will be ones you shouldn’t miss as this first week will confirm who holds the upper hand in this year’s season.
