Arorangi Bears defeated Ngatangiia Matavera Sea Eagles 22-8 in the final preliminary round match at Nukupure Park on Saturday.

Arorangi Bears defeated Ngatangiia Matavera Sea Eagles 22-8 in the final preliminary round match at Nukupure Park on Saturday.

The side finished third despite the win and will play the Sea Eagles in the third/fourth place play off this weekend.

The Bears led 12-0 at the break. Avatiu Nikao Eels finished on top after their win over fifth placed Titikaveka Bulldogs on Friday.

Defending champions Tupapa Maraerenga finished in second place.

The two teams will meet in the top place playoff with the winner heading straight into the final while the loser battling in the semi-final.
