In the Lotto Premier mens football match played at the Titikaveka field, hosts Titikaveka drew against Avatiu with two goals apiece.

In the first half of the match Avatiu capitalised on a penalty kick to put their first goal on the score sheet and with 10 minutes of play remaining before the half time whistle, Avatiu extended their lead by adding another goal, putting the half time score at two goals to nil in favour of Avatiu.

However, Titikaveka regrouped during the break and dominated the second spell of the match when speedster Bill Tangapiri fired two goals to equalise against Avatiu much to the delight of the Titikaveka supporters.

Avatiu tried tirelessly to score another goal to win the match but Titikaveka held their defences with the experienced Cameron Robertson taking charge at the back.

Meanwhile, Titikaveka and Avatiu could only manage a nil-all draw in the CIPS Image & Copy Centre womens championship on Saturday.

Both sides were evenly matched throughout the full 80 minutes of play taking their opportunities as they presented themselves, however it was difficult to put those chances to the back of the net.

In the other matches played in Matavera between hosts Matavera and Tupapa, Tupapa controlled their match to end their game with 11 unanswered goals by the final whistle in the Lotto Premier Mens competition.

The senior womens match also saw Tupapa thump Matavera by 11 goals to nil.

At the Nikao field, Nikao Sokattak beat Arorangi by five goals to two in the premier mens match while in the senior womens game Arorangi won their game with two minutes of play remaining when Samantha Lockington slipped the ball past the Nikao goal keeper from a corner kick to bring their score line at one goal to nil.
