Mufti money for Aitutaki

Avatea School donated its mufti day money – $405 from the students and teachers – to the Aitutaki Cyclone Appeal yesterday.

On mufti days students are asked to contribute at least 50 cents which usually goes towards school activities.

Principal Nga Charlie says the teachers at the school agreed that the school would give towards the appeal to help Aitutaki by using the normal mufti day funds.

“We thought hey, why not contribute?”

So on Thursday the funds were collected from students who came to school in mufti.

Charlie says they were happy to see the funds go to a good cause.
