The organisers of the 2017 Matson Vaka Eiva are making great strides in getting sponsors onboard for the biggest event on the Cook Islands sporting calendar.

Yesterday event manager Eva Allsworth signed a sponsorship agreement with Polynesian Rental Cars and Bikes who have come onboard once again to support the annual paddling event.

Company marketing executive Charleen Heather said they were proud to partner with the Vaka Eiva which is regarded the premier paddling event in the region.

“We are pretty proud. The good thing about Vaka Eiva is that it’s a local event and we encourage all local events.

“Vaka Eiva has been a strong pillar for development of paddling in the Cook Islands and we look forward to working with them once again.”

Event manager Allsworth was equally thrilled to continue their partnership with Polynesian Rental Cars and Bikes.

“On behalf of the Cook Islands Canoeing Association, we are thrilled to once again have the support of Polynesian Rental Cars and Bikes,” Allsworth said.

“They have been supporting us over the years and we have had a great relationship. We look forward to their support in many more years to come.”

Vaka Eiva 2017 which will feature local and overseas paddlers, will start next month.
