Neighbours Nikao Sokattak FC will travel downhill for today’s clash against Avatiu FC, at Aretere Park.

The day will kick off at 11:15am sharp, with the BSP U15 Boys match up, followed by the BSP U15 Girls.

First-place holder in the Tower Insurance premier men’s division, Nikao Sokattak will be hoping to extend their lead while Avatiu’s golden warriors will be all out to create upset and improve their standings.

In their last meeting at Nikao Field, the battle ended in a nil-all draw.

In today’s clash, hosts Avatiu FC will be on the road to redemption after their unforgettable loss against Tupapa last week.

Avatiu’s performance climbed a level up but they need some consistency to keep their top four chances alive.

Youngsters Maru Tearaitoa and Aaron Smith will lead Avatiu up front, ready to barge their way through Nikao’s defence wall guarded by Hugh Henry and Nia Remuera.

Nikao Sokattak, skilled and capable, will need to focus on their execution to turn their opportunities into goals.

The Islander senior women’s match between Avatiu FC and Nikao Sokattak FC will take place before the men’s clash.

Avatiu maidens are sitting in the top four and Nikao Sokattak are yet to gain three points.

In the other match, Titikaveka will host Matavera at Teimurimotia Park.
