Cook Islands Police responded to a few reports over the weekend, including two suspected alcohol-related road crashes.

Police said that on late Friday afternoon, a driver reported a speeding pickup truck that had overtaken too closely, scratching the side of his car.

And later that night, a motorcyclist crashed into a roadside sign, coming to rest in front of TEM Store, at Muri. The male driver was taken to hospital and a blood specimen was requested for analysis.

Police also responded to an excessive noise complaint, a damaged car report, wandering animals, and domestic issues.

One person was arrested on a charge of assault, stemming from an incident reported late last year.

Concerns were also raised over parked vehicle congestion at Nukupure Park in Ngatangiia, due to sporting events.
