$10,000 up for grabs at Te Mira Ura dance-off

The final night of Te Mira Ura’s vibrant cultural showcase for the year is set to light up the stage this Friday at Rehab Night Club, featuring an exciting mix of dancers, including the popular expatriates category.

A total of 33 dancers will compete in this enjoyable event organised by Tauranga Vananga (Ministry of Cultural Development), across four categories: Expatriates 18+ Years, Golden Oldies 56+ Years, Marsters 46–55 Years and Experts 30–45 Years.

Tauranga Vananga’s Te Papa 'Akamou Korero, Justina Nicholas, says they are anticipating an entertaining and evening.

With $10,000 in cash prizes up for grabs, the night promises high energy and fierce competition. The iconic Papatua Papatua will return as master of ceremony, guiding the audience through each performance and ensuring the event runs smoothly.

The Order of Appearances:    

Expatriates 18+ Years contestants are: Sera Kathleen Rokoroi (f), Eria Babute (m), Lesi Tupuola (f), Gede Fendi Cahyadi (m), Sandy Tamba (f), Alphy Ngire (m), Marlon Rebollos (m), Mere Vua Ravounu (defending female champ), Edwin Kotoiwasawasa (m), Chris Tupuola (m), Cassandra Lemu'u (f).                 

Golden Oldies 56+ Years: Tarearea Kimititaunga (f), Noo Ngametua (defending male champ), Ngatokoitu Daniels (f), Mata Arnold (f), Ngarima George           (m), Lorna Nicholas (f), Teinakore Ngatoko (m), Mona Henderson (f), Ruby Sahay (f).                                             

Masters 46-55 Years: Allan Rua (m), Poto (Pozo) Ngaroi (m), Tauepa Tupa (f), Tairi Paulo (m), Lotiola Mateariki (f).  

Experts (30-45 Years): Travel Tuaputa (m), Uirangi Bishop (defending female champion), Pongi Oti (m), Uritaua Uritaua (m), Ana Maine (f), Poti Maeva (m), Anita Meti-Taputu (f).

The general admission early bird tickets are $10, or $20 at the door.
