Tupapa’s Victoria Park will host the final leg of the Cook Islands Rugby League State of the Origin Series between the Town Blues and the Country Maroons this Saturday.

The Blues, having won the first two legs 46-28 and 28-20, will look to finish the series unbeaten, while the Maroons will be playing for pride in this final clash.

“We are expecting one more round of big runs, hard hits and super tackles,” said Francis Toa, the Cook Islands Rugby League competition coordinator.

“We will also be having our awards after each division. CIRL would like to thank the following people for coming on board to offer their support and sponsorship to our event: Tere & Maryanne Strickland (Johnson Fitness & TEM Store), Clive & Luciana Nicholas (Polynesian Tattoo’s), CMS Accounting, Dre & Rasten Tuaati, Logan & Ahau, Tupapa Panthers Rugby League (in memory of Alfie Manu), T-Rex Chicken, Kevin & Francis Cook and Family, Mark Short & Kaka Ama, Polynesian Media, CB Sports and all our media supporters, writers and promoters.”
The competition will kick off with the Under-16s clash between the two teams at 3pm followed by the premier men’s battle at 4pm.

Entry is $5 for adults, $2 for children and free for those under 12 years.
