Friday 31: Ditch your workout this Saturday and join the Zumba-thon party at the Top Shape Gym.

Zumba instructor Emm Koteka-Wiki in partnership with Top Shape Gym will be holding a Zumba-thon charity master class with proceeds going to the Creative Centre to help adults with disabilities.

Emm has been teaching the Zumba fitness class for about three years but has over 20 years experience in the fitness industry.

Emm describes Zumba as a fun and invigorating workout that combines Latin dance moves with international hits which provides a dynamic but simple and unique workout.

“It has a real party feel,” says Emm who works as a fitness instructor back home in New York.

“It’s an effective cardiovascular workout which also tones and strengthens.”

Emm says that the class is suitable for all body types and fitness level.

While the Zumba-thon this Saturday is to raise funds for the Creative Centre, Emm says it is also to promote healthy living and having fun.

The first Zumba-thon session on Saturday August 1 will start at 8.30am and run for an hour.

The second session will be at 9.45pm with a small fee of $5 per person.

Space is limited so be quick to reserve your spot by calling Avera Hunter at Top Shape on 21254.

If you are tied up this weekend you can still make donations to the Creative Centre or register at the gym to take part in Zumba classes which are ongoing at the gym. - Matariki Wilson
